Question 1

Is mouth tape safe to use?

Accepted Answer

Gentle mouth tape is designed to encourage nasal breathing during sleep by helping the lips stay closed. It's not suitable if you have a blocked nose, untreated sleep apnoea, are intoxicated, or are unable to remove it yourself. Always check with a doctor if you're unsure.

Question 2

How do I remove mouth tape in the morning?

Accepted Answer

Lift gently from one corner. The hypoallergenic adhesive is designed to release cleanly without pulling skin or leaving residue. A warm shower or damp cloth makes removal even easier.

Question 3

Will mouth tape stop snoring?

Accepted Answer

Many customers find that supporting nasal breathing leads to quieter, calmer nights. Results vary — mouth tape is best used as part of a wider sleep routine and isn't a medical treatment for snoring or sleep apnoea.

Question 4

Does mouth tape actually work?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for mouth-breathers. Studies show mouth taping can reduce snoring intensity and morning dry mouth in people who breathe through their mouth at night. It works best when your nose is already clear; pair it with a nasal strip if your airway feels narrow.

Question 5

Can you suffocate from mouth tape?

Accepted Answer

No. RhinoGear mouth tape has an open centre vent and leaves the corners of your mouth free, so an airway is always available and you can still breathe, speak or cough. It also peels away under gentle pressure. Never use duct tape or any non-sleep adhesive.

Question 6

Can I use mouth tape with a beard?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Trim stubble close around the lips, wash and dry the skin, and avoid beard oil within an hour of bed. The hypoallergenic adhesive releases cleanly even on facial hair.

Question 7

Can I use medical tape instead of mouth tape?

Accepted Answer

We don't recommend it. Medical tape is stronger, harder to remove and not shaped for safe overnight lip use. Purpose-made sleep tape is calibrated for facial skin and easy removal.

Question 8

How long until I see results?

Accepted Answer

Most people notice less dry mouth and quieter snoring within the first few nights. The habit of nasal-only sleep usually settles in 2–4 weeks of nightly use.

Question 9

What is mouth tape?

Accepted Answer

Mouth tape is a small, gentle adhesive strip worn across the lips during sleep so your lips stay together and you breathe through your nose instead of your mouth. RhinoGear mouth tape is a vented centre strip made for nightly sleep use — not industrial or medical tape.

Question 10

Does mouth tape work for snoring?

Accepted Answer

It works well for snoring caused by mouth breathing, which is the most common type — keeping the lips closed usually drops the volume noticeably within the first week. It won't fix snoring that comes from throat-level airway collapse, and it isn't a treatment for sleep apnoea.

Question 11

Can you buy mouth tape at Chemist Warehouse?

Accepted Answer

Chemist Warehouse stocks Mute nasal dilators and some pharmacies carry Respire sleep strips, but range and stock vary by store. RhinoGear mouth tape ships direct from our Australian warehouse with same-business-day dispatch and free standard shipping over $65.

Question 12

How long does mouth tape take to work?

Accepted Answer

Dry mouth usually improves on the very first night. Snoring typically gets quieter within a week, and nasal-only sleep starts to feel automatic after about three to four weeks of nightly use.

Question 13

Mouth tape vs a chin strap — which is better?

Accepted Answer

Mouth tape is smaller, quieter and cheaper, and it works by keeping the lips sealed. A chin strap holds the jaw shut but slips, heats up and is visible. Most people find tape more comfortable; chin straps suit those who can't tolerate adhesive on the lips.

Question 14

Can I use mouth tape when I have a cold or blocked nose?

Accepted Answer

No. Mouth tape only works when you can breathe comfortably through your nose. Skip it while congested, or pair it with a RhinoGear nasal strip once airflow is clear again.

Question 15

How many nights does a pack last?

Accepted Answer

One strip per night, 30 strips per pouch — a full month of nightly use per pack. Strips are single-use and shouldn't be re-applied.

Question 16

Is mouth tape suitable for kids or teens?

Accepted Answer

RhinoGear mouth tape is designed for adult faces (16+). For children, speak to a GP, dentist or paediatric sleep clinician before trying any sleep tape.

Question 17

Does it hurt to take off?

Accepted Answer

No. The hypoallergenic adhesive is calibrated for facial skin, so it releases without stinging or pulling. Peel slowly from one corner in the direction of hair growth, or warm it with a damp cloth first.

Question 18

How fast will my order be delivered in Australia?

Accepted Answer

Orders placed before 2pm AEST are dispatched the same business day from Australia. Standard shipping takes 2–6 business days; Express takes 1–3 business days. Free standard shipping on orders over $65.

Question 19

What's the return policy?

Accepted Answer

Because this is a personal hygiene product, we don't accept change-of-mind returns once shipped. If your item arrives faulty, damaged or incorrect we'll replace or refund it in full and cover return postage. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law always apply.

Question 20

Are RhinoGear products drug-free and hypoallergenic?

Accepted Answer

Yes — RhinoGear products are 100% drug-free, latex-free and use a hypoallergenic, medical-grade adhesive that's gentle on skin and lifts off cleanly.

Question 21

Can I use them every night?

Accepted Answer

Most customers use them nightly without issue. If you have sensitive skin, sleep apnoea, recent facial surgery, or any concerns, please speak with your healthcare professional first.
