Do nasal strips help with CPAP?
Updated 5 May 2026
Short answer
Some CPAP users find nasal strips help reduce nasal-mask leak and feel more comfortable. They are not a substitute for CPAP.
Nasal strips can support more open nasal airflow underneath a nasal CPAP mask, which some users find reduces the feeling of forced air pressure and helps the mask seal better.
Always discuss any add-on with your sleep physician — never reduce your CPAP pressure or skip therapy because a strip 'feels' like enough.
Strips do not treat obstructive sleep apnoea on their own. CPAP remains the gold-standard treatment.
